What Does My Order Status Mean on GigMug?

Once an order is placed, its status will update automatically each time a client or freelancer takes an action. You can check your order’s status anytime through your Order Page.

Before an Order is Delivered

There are two possible statuses before a freelancer submits a delivery: Incomplete or In Progress (Awaiting Requirements).

Incomplete

When an order is marked Incomplete, it means the client still needs to submit the requested information before the freelancer can begin work.

Client view: A large orange banner will appear, prompting you to provide the required instructions.

Freelancer view: If enough details are already available, the freelancer may choose to skip requirements and move the order into In Progress.

In Progress (Awaiting Requirements)

When an order is marked In Progress, it means the freelancer has everything they need and has started working.

Client view: You’ll see the delivery date clearly shown on the progress bar.

Freelancer view: Work must be delivered within the agreed timeframe.

💡 Tip: Clients and freelancers should use the order chat actively to share updates, clarify requirements, and avoid delays.

After an Order is Delivered

Once a freelancer submits their work, the order can move into one of four statuses: Delivered, Rejected, In Revision, or Completed.

Delivered

The freelancer has submitted work for review. Clients can:

Accept the delivery (and optionally leave a review).

Request revisions if changes are needed.

Extend the review period for extra time.

⏳ Orders auto-complete after 3 days if no action is taken. For physical deliveries, auto-completion occurs after 14 days.

Rejected

If a client is unsatisfied with the delivery, they can reject it. The freelancer can then:

Resubmit the work with revisions.

Adjust extras or extend the timeline (with client approval).

The order will return to In Progress after resubmission.

In Revision

When a client requests changes, the order enters In Revision. The freelancer must re-deliver updated work.

The order timer does not penalize the freelancer after the first delivery.

Funds remain secure until the order is marked as Completed.

Completed

An order is marked Completed when:

The client accepts the delivery and leaves a review, or

The order auto-completes after 3 days with no client action.

Clients have 14 days to leave a review (30 days for some categories like Programming & Tech or SEO).

💡 Clients can also tip freelancers within 30 days after completion.

Issues with an Order

Sometimes things don’t go smoothly. In such cases, orders may show special statuses: Dispute, Late, or Very Late.

Dispute

When either side opens a case in the Resolution Center, the status changes to Dispute. Possible actions include:

Requesting mutual cancellation.

Requesting an updated delivery date.

Sending an update request.

Both client and freelancer can accept or reject the request.

Late

If the freelancer misses the delivery deadline, the order is marked Late.

Clients may cancel if the freelancer doesn’t respond.

If delivery is made late, the client can still review, request revisions, or complete the order.

Very Late

If 24 hours pass after an order is marked Late, it moves to Very Late.

Clients can immediately cancel the order via the Resolution Center.

Cancellation at this stage is not mutual—it’s automatic.

✅ With these statuses, GigMug ensures clarity for both clients and freelancers, making the order process transparent, fair, and easy to manage.
